ENDGAME — 72 HOURS LEFT! LET'S END THE CAMPAIGN STRONG!
over 3 years ago – Sun, Sep 13, 2020 at 02:28:23 PM

Good morning, Yellow Brick Road Warriors — we're in the home stretch now, with just 72 hours left before The O.Z.'s campaign comes to a close on Wednesday at 7:30am PT/10:30am ET!

We just want to thank you all for spreading the word and telling all your friends to join the Emerald Army — we're  within striking distance of unlocking our Death From Above enamel pin stretch goal, which we will be offering for FREE for anyone who orders "All Four Covers" or higher, and providing as a paid add-on for all other tiers via BackerKit!

Like I've said before, we'll be sending out fulfillment surveys in the next few weeks via BackerKit, which will allow you to select variant covers and add any additional purchases like enamel pins — and if you are unsure, please confirm your credit cards are up-to-date on Kickstarter, to ensure we have accurate printing numbers and that we can send everyone their books in a timely fashion!

Finally, to be good Kickstarter neighbors, we also wanted to showcase some other fine campaigns! Look no further than Crescent City Monsters, an awesome story of horror and magic. I've been a huge fan of this series for awhile, as writer Newton Lilavois and artist Gian Carlo Bernal have a terrific (and beautifully drawn!) supernatural story set in 1960s New Orleans. Back this immediately!

Meanwhile, those who are looking for a sweeping fantasy series, don't miss out on Aztlan, an epic adventure rooted in Mesoamerican mythology! The artwork on this book is gorgeous, and the sense of scale will really appeal to any fans of The O.Z.

Thank you all again for making The O.Z. such an incredible success — let's keep spreading the word in these last 72 hours to build our Emerald Army even stronger than before!

JUST ONE WEEK LEFT — WE'VE CROSSED 1,000 READERS!
over 3 years ago – Sat, Sep 12, 2020 at 08:53:04 PM

Good morning, Yellow Brick Road Warriors! With exactly ONE WEEK LEFT in The O.Z.'s first campaign, we just wanted to send you all a special THANK YOU for bringing us past 1,000 readers last night!

By smashing through our Backer Stretch Goal, you've officially unlocked a behind-the-scenes commentary track FOR ALL BACKERS, which I will be personally recording!

We're also steadily moving towards our $40,000 stretch goal, which will unlock our Death From Above enamel pins, which will be FREE for everyone who has pledged for the "All Four Covers" tier and above — and due to popular demand, we will also be offering the enamel pin as an add-on purchase for our other physical backers via BackerKit!

With one week left to go,  can our Emerald Army do to help us land our campaign smoothly? The first thing is to keep spreading the word and telling all your friends about The O.Z. — I think we've got every shot at crossing 1,250 readers by the end of the campaign!

The second bit of housekeeping is just to make sure your credit card information is correct and up-to-date on Kickstarter before our campaign wraps, just to make sure that we're able to send everyone their books in a timely fashion!

Thank you to all our Yellow Brick Road Warriors for your unmatched enthusiasm, and stay tuned for more news about The O.Z.... because we've got a super-cool capstone stretch goal waiting in the wings...

600+% FUNDED! NEARLY 1,000 BACKERS! PLUS A WORD FROM MARK RUSSELL!
over 3 years ago – Wed, Sep 09, 2020 at 08:08:00 PM

Hello, Yellow Brick Road Warriors! And for everyone who celebrated, I hope you all had a safe and relaxing Labor Day weekend!

First off, I wanted to thank each and every one of you for bringing The O.Z. past 600% funded this weekend! We couldn't be more grateful for all your support and your enthusiasm for our project. And as a special thank you, we wanted to show off a teaser of artist Joe Mulvey's upcoming pinup...

Awesome, right? We've also almost unlocked our behind-the-scenes commentary track, which ALL BACKERS will receive after we cross 1,000 readers! But to get you all even more excited to tell your friends about us, we've got an awesome pull quote from Eisner-, Harvey- and Ringo Award-nominated writer Mark Russell (Second Coming, The Snagglepuss Chronicles):

Thank you, Mark! And last but not least, I wanted to give some shoutouts for some new Kickstarter projects, including Rafael Garcia: Henchman, by my pal David Schrader and SBI Press! If you want a Kevin Smith-style sendup of life as a faceless supervillain minion, you should definitely check this out.

Stuck inside? Editor Shelly Bond and company have you covered with Insider Art, a 270-page anthology featuring 170 women and nonbinary creators from across the comics industry, including friends of The O.Z. like Magdalene Visaggio, Sweeney Boo, Vita Ayala, Sally Cantrino, Nicole Boose and many more! There's just three days left to get this awesome anthology in your hands!

WINGED MONKEY SQUADRON STICKER UNLOCKED! NEW STRETCH GOAL: ENAMEL PINS!
over 3 years ago – Sun, Sep 06, 2020 at 05:32:55 PM

Hello, Yellow Brick Road Warriors! There's been no mission too great for you all to conquer together, as you've smashed our third Stretch Goal — and as a result, ALL PHYSICAL BACKERS will now receive this incredible Winged Monkey Squadron sticker!

And with that in mind, we've got more goals for The O.Z.! For our next Stretch Goal, if we cross $40,000, ALL PHYSICAL BACKERS ORDERING THE "ALL FOUR COVERS" TIER OR HIGHER will receive this awesome "Death From Above" enamel pin, inspired by artist Maan House's variant cover!

(And because you asked for it! If we hit $40,000, we will ALSO offer additional tiers to add enamel pins with our standalone physical Standard and Variant Covers for a small additional fee to cover extra shipping costs.)

We're also coming close to our Backer Stretch Goal — if we clear 1,000 Yellow Brick Road Warriors, I will also record a digital Behind-The-Scenes Commentary Track for ALL BACKERS!

Finally, because The O.Z. always wants to be good neighbors, we wanted to share some spotlight for some other fun projects on Kickstarter! You should absolutely check out Jason McNamara and Anke Gladnick's Ghost Band! It's artists versus programmers in the last days of San Francisco before the end of the world — it's a super-fun concept by some really awesome creators, so don't miss out!

If you want to see a time-honored classic told in a brand-new light, you should absolutely check out Major Holmes & Captain Watson, by Jeff Rider and Ismael Canales! Reimagining the iconic Holmes/Watson dynamic through Sheffield Holmes and Imogen Watson, this detective story weaves through a vicious killer making his way through London on the eve of warfare. It looks awesome!

DEBUTING THE O.Z.'S OFFICIAL THEME SONG... "HEART OF TIN"!
over 3 years ago – Fri, Sep 04, 2020 at 01:22:33 PM

"But this axe won't swing itself..."

I can't believe it — you've smashed through our first Social Stretch Goal in less than 24 hours! We couldn't be more grateful to have our Yellow Brick Road Warriors at our side — and with that said, I couldn't be more proud to unveil the official theme song for The O.Z....

"Heart of Tin," written and performed by George Marston and produced by bed deth.

It's the perfect combination of beautiful and sad, and sums up our series so wonderfully — so be sure to give it a listen, and if you like the song, let us know and feel free to share with your friends online!

And from the entire O.Z. team, thank you all for being the best fans on either side of the rainbow!
