WEEK TWO OF THE O.Z.'S NEW KICKSTARTER: NEW STRETCH GOALS AND SOCIAL STRETCH GOALS!
over 2 years ago – Mon, Aug 23, 2021 at 07:53:25 PM

Good morning, Yellow Brick Road Warriors! And welcome to a special update for The O.Z.!

On Friday, our Emerald Army smashed through the first stretch goal of The O.Z.'s new Kickstarter campaign, and as such, we're so thrilled to unveil our next stretch goal at $30,000!

When we cross this threshold, we will unlock a set of EXCLUSIVE painted cards by artist Rachel Perciphone! All $100+ backers will get these cards added free of charge, and all other backers will be able to add the set of cards to their purchase.

Additionally, we're also rolling out our Social Stretch Goals! For everyone on Twitter, for every 50 retweets this pinned post gets, we will unlock new bonus rewards for our backers!

And to get started, once our tweet hits 50 tweets, we will add on a brand-new, Battle Chasers-inspired print from artist Edu Souza and colorist Jasen Smith FREE for all physical backers:

Doesn't that look incredible? So hop on Twitter and start sharing our post to get that unlocked!

As always, we want to thank our Yellow Brick Road Warriors for being the best comics fans on Kickstarter — we're so excited to unveil even more stretch goals and social bonuses as the campaign continues, but we couldn't be more grateful to have our Emerald Army at our side!

Hello, Yellow Brick Road Warriors, and welcome to another special update for The O.Z.!

We're in the middle of Day Two of The O.Z.'s new Kickstarter campaign, and we have been completely overwhelmed by your support — thanks to the incredible dedication of all of our readers, we have topped 500 backers and over 300% funding!

And because our Emerald Army never backs away from a challenge, we're pleased to reveal our first stretch goal of the campaign — when we reach $25,000, every single backer of The O.Z. will get a Digital Comics Extravaganza to be distributed alongside your rewards!

That includes more than 200+ pages of additional digital comics content from a murderer's row of indie comics talent, including Justin Jordan (Spread), Rylend Grant (The Peacekeepers), Clay Adams (Deadskins), Brenton Lengel (SnowWhite: Zombie Apocalypse), Kat Calamia (The Dancer), and more!

As always, we want to thank your Yellow Brick Road Warriors for your incredible support, and to take advantage of our early bird special discounts if you haven't had a chance to pledge yet — there's only 14 HOURS LEFT to get a discounted copy of Issue #2, and your credit cards won't be charged until after the campaign wraps on Sept. 15!

And finally, for those of you who have kept reading — here's Ruby, my Kickstarter assistant and personal Toto. If you think this pup is exhausted, just wait until you see what her dad looks like... :-D

DAY THREE OF THE O.Z.'S NEW KICKSTARTER: MEET JACK PUMPKINHEAD!
over 2 years ago – Thu, Aug 19, 2021 at 01:42:05 PM

Hello, Yellow Brick Road Warriors! And welcome to another exciting update for The O.Z.!

First off, thank you to everyone for your incredible support on our third day of The O.Z.'s new Kickstarter campaign — we're closing in on 600 backers and nearly 400% funded, and are closing in our first stretch goal! And because we appreciate the continued support of our Emerald Army, we wanted to show you all some behind-the-scenes materials that went into making the book.

Out of all the characters in The O.Z. for me to write, Jack Pumpkinhead might be one of my favorites. His voice was heavily inspired by the Marvel Comics character Taskmaster — a blue collar mercenary with a dry sense of humor and a talent for killing. As the Scarecrow's chief enforcer, Jack will prove to be a major thorn in Dorothy and the Tin Soldier's side as he brings the fight to the Resistance.

Fun design fact for the character: Ruben had originally drawn this jacket for the Scarecrow, but we quickly realized this slick trenchcoat could only work for The O.Z.'s ultimate aerial combatant. So stay tuned, Yellow Brick Road Warriors, and join us in the trenches for our new Kickstarter campaign — because soon Jack Pumpkinhead will be joining the battle!
